Cake Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. Set aside.
- Combine all cake ingredients except raisins and walnuts, if using them, in a bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl sides, until smooth. Stir in walnuts and raisins, if desired.
- Pour mixture into the prepared pan. Bake at 35-40 minutes or until cake center is firm to touch and a toothpick inserted into the center emerges clean. Cool completely before frosting and garnishing with chopped walnuts.
Frosting Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer.
- On low speed, add the powdered sugar gradually until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract.
